One could argue that Ubisoft is pretty much the Disney of gaming (albeit not as big), which is why it shouldn’t come off as a total surprise that Ubisoft is planning on opening its own theme park. In fact, this is a plan that’s been years in the making with a 2020 original launch date. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic, among other things, pushed back Ubisoft’s original plans and now the French publishers have confirmed that the theme park is now on track for a 2025 opening.

Say hello to the world’s first Ubisoft Entertainment Center

As per their latest announcement, Ubisoft and Storyland Studios have partnered to open the Ubisoft Entertainment Center at Studios Occtanie Méditerranée in France. Storyland Studios will provide the expertise and design for the Ubisoft Entertainment Center, which will use Wander, a gamification technology by Alterface. In addition to the Ubisoft Entertainment Center, Studios Occitanie also has a “professional film studio” and “multiple entertainment offerings” that include “retail, dining, and hospitality.” The partnership will reportedly culminate in a Ubisoft Theme Park inspired by the company’s biggest franchises. According to Location Based Entertainment Manager, Mathilde Bresson, Ubisoft is “eager to bring these experiences” to their “ever-growing international fanbase.” Unfortunately, Ubisoft nor Storyland Studios provided more information about the Ubisoft Entertainment Center. Given that we’re still quite a ways away from the opening of the theme park, we shouldn’t expect to hear more about it until around 2023 or 2024. In other Ubisoft news, the company just confirmed the release date and lower price of Rainbow Six Extraction. In addition, Ubisoft also announced that it has plans to create blockchain video games. These revelations all come just a few weeks after Ubisoft delayed the next big The Division 2 expansion and the beta for Ghost Recon Frontline.
