TikTok Jump will likely be just the first of many
With TikTok Jump, users can now select Rotten Tomatoes from its list of available Jumps and link to TV trailers, movies, ratings, reviews, and other important information. In its press release, Rotten Tomatoes describes how popular “Film and TV clips and soundbites” have been on TikTok. Because commenters frequently request “more information on the content they’re discovering”, the site’s partnership with TikTok will make it easier for creators to “inform and entertain audiences”. By partnering with TikTok, Rotten Tomatoes will have allowed itself to reach even more audiences, especially Gen Z. According to Wallaroo Media, as much as 60% of all users on TikTok are Gen Zers. In making Rotten Tomatoes more accessible, it just opened itself up to an audience that will make up the majority of the world’s population within the next few years. TikTok Jump is a relatively new feature for the social media giant. Since its launch, TikTok has partnered with other companies to try and integrate their content within its app. Before Rotten Tomatoes, TikTok had already secured partnerships with Quizlet, BuzzFeed, Wikipedia, and Jumprope, among others. It will be interesting to see what will come out of TikTok and Rotten Tomatoes’ partnership, as well as what will come next. Speaking of Rotten Tomatoes, the early reviews for Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home are already in. With the embargo now lifted, most critics have finally had a chance to give their two cents about the upcoming MCU film. It appears that No Way Home is living up to expectations if not exceeding them. Of course, only time will tell if it can maintain its current 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
