With that said, we’ve rounded up everything there is to know about Resident Evil 4 VR down below.

Is There a Resident Evil 4 VR Trailer Available?

After Capcom’s initial announcement, the Oculus Gaming Showcase showed off more of what fans can expect from Resident Evil 4 VR. In the newest trailer for Resident Evil 4 VR, Executive Producer Ruth Bram talks more about how the developers ported the game and all the changes coming to Resident Evil 4 VR with the change in perspective. As detailed in the trailer, one of the most notable changes coming to Resident Evil 4 VR is that players can now interact with weapons and objects. At the same time, dual-wielding is now available and players can grab weapons directly off of their bodies for a more authentic experience. Resident Evil 4 VR also features audio improvements for better immersion. The trailer also reveals that Resident Evil 4 VR will give players options as far as movement goes. Players can either move around using the analog stick or teleport around in case they get motion sickness from moving around in VR too much. Oculus also stressed in the showcase that while Resident Evil 4 VR is a faithful VR recreation of the original, with the original cutscenes included, the VR title is a remastered version of the original game in Unreal Engine 4. Although it’s not as noticeable in the trailer, a closer inspection will show you just how much better the in-game textures look. This is understandable given the shift from a third-person to a first-person perspective.

When Is the Resident Evil 4 VR Release Date?

While talking about Resident Evil 4 VR at the Oculus Gaming Showcase, Ruth Bram confirmed a 2021 release window for the game on Oculus Quest 2. Unfortunately, Bram nor Capcom has given no further information beyond the release window. However, given that the other games of the Oculus Gaming Showcase all received Summer 2021 windows, it’s highly likely that Resident Evil 4 VR won’t release until at least Fall 2021.

This is something that we still can’t answer as of yet. The only information we have to go on is that Resident Evil 4 VR has been recreated in Unreal Engine 4. But, as far as Resident Evil 4 VR being the rumored remake, this information has still yet to be confirmed nor denied by Capcom so far. For those that don’t know, rumors of a Resident Evil 4 remake started emerging following the release of the Resident Evil 4 Remake.
