Given its blend of features, the Meta Quest Pro represents a massive leap forward for VR headsets. It has a host of innovative features including high-res sensors for improved mixed reality experiences, cutting-edge LCDs for better visuals, and a curved-cell battery enabling a slimmer design than ever before. What’s more? The Quest Pro is Meta’s first attempt at making a headset suitable for both virtual reality and mixed reality purposes. While the company’s previous releases were targeted at the ordinary consumer, the Quest Pro is targeted at businesses and professionals. This is immediately evident in its price point of $1,499, which is over $1,000 more expensive than Meta’s last release the Meta Quest 2. Also, the headset will excite gamers given its suitability for gaming endeavors. For example, the device’s eye tracking and Natural Facial Expressions technology can project natural and realistic versions of people in virtual reality. This feature enhances a professional’s ability to work in a virtual office and helps augment the gaming experience as well. The Meta Quest 2 is powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ platform. It also has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for smooth and hitch-free operation. Apart from the headset, each order will include the Quest Pro controllers, stylus tips, partial light blockers, and a charging dock. Meta will start shipping the device on October 25. However, it is currently available for pre-order from Meta Stores and select retail stores across the UK, USA, Canada, and France. For an enhanced experience, the Quest Pro comes with a bevy of accessories that will also be available from October 25. Meta will also start selling the controllers individually for $299.99 each later this year. Speaking of VR devices, VR fans can look forward to buying the PSVR 2 early next year. The console manufacturer appears to be confident that it will sell well as it has placed a massive order of PSVR2 units at launch. It’s also believed that Valve is preparing to release a new VR headset in the next few years.
