However, he apparently still has enough time to go back to his old stomping grounds. Case in point, there are rumors that Cena is coming back to wrestle at WrestleMania 39 in April. More importantly, Cena isn’t afraid to pour drums of gasoline into the rumor fire, especially in regard to a potential match against Logan Paul. After acknowledging Paul’s performance at WWE Crown Jewel, to which Paul responded to with the “eyes emoji” and later explained why he should square up against the 16-time World Champion at WrestleMania 39, Cena has apparently replied. In an Instagram post, Cena posted a photo of Logan Paul’s face imposed on Stone Cold. If this isn’t a hint at their mega match taking place in the future, we don’t know what is. After spending the better part of the past two decades as the face of the post-Attitude Era WWE, Cena ventured into Hollywood where he’s since become a fixture of the DC Universe as Peacemaker. But, as we’ve already mentioned, Cena isn’t afraid to take time off acting and paying homage to his roots. In 2020, Cena fought against The Fiend, Bray Wyatt’s alter-ego, in a FireFly Fun House match. The fact that Cena was the first to acknowledge Paul and is even feeding the hype suggests that something is going on, we just don’t know exactly what it’s going to be. One possible theory is that “Stone Cold” Steve Austin could sign up as the guest referee for the match between Cena and Paul. At the very least, it would satisfy every wrestler’s dream of seeing the Texas Rattle Snake inside the squared circle again after a noteworthy showing at WrestleMania 38. Ultimately, only time will tell if Triple H and the WWE will book Logan Paul vs John Cena at WrestleMania 39. But, as much hate as Paul gets, the man’s not exactly lying. It’s hard to think of a bigger match than one involving these two.
