Having said that, fans do at least have two titles from BioWare to look forward to in Dragon Age 4 and Mass Effect 4. Now, it appears that Dragon Age 4 could be here soon enough. According to an episode of GrubbsNax, industry insider Jeff Grubb claims that the latest installment in BioWare’s epic fantasy series is on track for a late 2023 release. To be specific, Grubb describes the game’s development to be in “very good shape” and that it is at least 18 months away from launch. Although BioWare could push the game back to a later date, a potential release window suggests that the development of Dragon Age 4 is progressing well. Not to mention, the date would align with the previous report that Dragon Age 4 will be exclusive to next-gen consoles. Between the COVID-19 pandemic and microchip shortage, BioWare might be using this extra development time to polish Dragon Age 4 until it feels confident about the numbers of Xbox Series S/X and PS5 consoles sold on the market. Also, BioWare might be more conscious about its “magic” after a former Dragon Age producer outed the studio’s toxic practice. At the end of the day, only BioWare knows when Dragon Age 4 is going to come out. We can only hope that BioWare finds a way to tide fans over until then. After all, if Mass Effect fans got Mass Effect Legendary Edition last year, what’s stopping BioWare from doing a remaster of all three Dragon Age games? The first two Dragon Age titles are looking worse for wear and could use a fresh coat of paint.
