One of the said characters, Saul Goodman, eventually got his own show that acts as a prequel/sequel to Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul. Although fans did not gravitate towards Better Call Saul in 2015 as quickly as they did with Breaking Bad, the Bob Odenkirk-led show eventually carved out its niche and proved itself as a worthy successor. Now, more than 7 years after it first premiered, Better Call Saul is finally ending with its sixth and final season.

It stands alone as a show that’s just as worthy of your time as Breaking Bad. Unfortunately, after Season 5 of Better Call Saul premiered back in 2020, several factors delayed the process on the finale. For starters, there was the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, lead star Bob Odenkirk suffered a heart attack during the production of the sixth season last year, pushing back the timeline by several months. But, while most fans would’ve been okay with waiting for a wee bit longer, it appears that Netflix is ready to show off the end of Better Call Saul. According to Netflix, Better Call Saul season 6 will drop in two parts, similar to Money Heist, Ozark, and Lucifer, among others. The first two episodes will premiere on April 18 with weekly releases for subsequent episodes, after which the final six-episode run will kick off on July 12. In addition, Better Call Saul will get three animated spinoffs, including one that revolves around Saul Goodman’s earlier years as Slippin’ Jimmy, and a new season of Better Call Saul Employee Training. Audiences have spent the better part of the past two years speculating about how Better Call Saul will end, but Netflix has done an excellent job keeping things under wraps. But, what is perhaps the most interesting part of the final season is the arrival of Gus Fring as the show inches closer to the events of Breaking Bad. With another flash-forwards season expected to open season 6, Better Call Saul should end things on a high albeit potentially tragic note. In other Netflix news, the streaming giant just “confirmed” that The Witcher season 3 has started production. A follow-up to Squid Game is also official as well, several months after the debut season set new records for the platform. Finally, fans couldn’t help but question Netflix for its questionable casting choice for the live-action Masters of the Universe.
