If we believe the recent rumors, this is all changing soon. As the world waits for more news on Assassin’s Creed: Mirage and Infinity as well as other projects codenamed Red, Jade, Hexe, cybersleuths are busy digging into several platforms to find out more info. In one such venture, a user found data from a recent update to the source code for the Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla Ubisoft Connect page mentioning Steam. This all hints at the potential relaunch of the award-winning title on Valve’s digital storefront in the future, possibly in time for the game’s second-year anniversary. The same source claims that this is the second time they’ve found proof of a Steam launch for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The first one came alongside the Nvidia GeForce Now leak. Ubisoft publicly criticized Valve’s business model for Steam in recent years, which is why they’ve decided to work with Epic Games instead. Of course, we’re not discounting the fact that Epic threw Ubisoft a huge wad of cash to keep their game out of Steam. If this happened, most likely, Valhalla’s “exclusivity” on the Epic Games Store wasn’t always going to be permanent. This explains why we keep on hearing about a Steam release of the game. If Valhalla is coming to Steam, it’s safe to assume that other Ubisoft games will follow. In other Assassin’s Creed news, Ubisoft has denied rumors that it’s working on a remake of the original Assassin’s Creed game. Finally, Netflix and Ubisoft have partnered on a new Assassin’s Creed game.
