Several insiders have come forward claiming that Ubisoft is working on two new Assassin’s Creed games. The first one, Assassin’s Creed: Rift, was originally a DLC for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla before Ubisoft repurposed it as a standalone title to fill the gap between Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and the next open-world Assassin’s Creed game, “Project Red.” Jason Schreier, a video game journalist who writes for Bloomberg, also confirmed that the second unannounced Assassin’s Creed game is a part of Assassin’s Creed: Infinity. Ubisoft described this in-development title last year as a live-service platform for future games in the franchise.

Grubb stated that Project Red will expand on the open-world RPG format and take place in feudal Japan. To summarize what we’ve heard these the past few days, Ubisoft is working on one stealth-focused Assassin’s Creed game and another one set in an open world. Meanwhile, Skull & Bones is coming out in November, which should take care of those who miss the naval combat of the earlier games in the series. Unfortunately, Ubisoft has kept its silence amidst all the talks, so we can’t really say for sure which is which. But, with multiple trusted sources all saying the same thing, it feels like it’s only a matter of time before Ubisoft confirms all the things we just told you.
